Chapter 1 ~ Start off
I stomped my way towards the store to pick up some groceries. I was a little bit angry cause I don't know what to cook for tonight, the night after Christmas. On my way there, there was a mysterious man wearing a big black cloak. He was running. It looked like as if he was chased by someone or some people. He ran towards me. He grabbed me and took me to a shallow and a little bit dark alley. He panted and panted of exhaustion. He looked at me in the eye, he was wearing glasses. and have somehow an orange color. He gave me a book and said,
"Ms. Carmel, please take this book with you and....and...please follow the orders of the first page or else you'll be one of the sacrifices." he said with a panting breath.
Wait, wait, wait, why does he know my name, even though I've never met him? I said to myself.
"I know you're wondering how and why do I know you. But this is an order from m-" he said.
And he disappeared before he said his reasons. I just stood there in silence and opened the book. I tried to read the first page but it was really hard to do it. The text was too faded to read. And when I opened the other pages, it was blank as ever.
Uh oh, I forgot, I have to buy some ingredients for tonight. Aww man! I said to myself. So I ran to the store and back home. But still, for somehow, I can't let go of the book.
==============================================
That book is still on my desk, I kept it in my drawer so no one can find out about it.
I opened up my drawer and reached for the book. The weird thing is the book is bigger than yesterday and the text was more easier to read. Just like the mysterious man told me what to do, I opened up the first page. I was shocked. It said: Meet me at the clock tower tonight at 6 PM or else something will happen to you.
I was shocked. What? 6 PM? but it's already 8 PM now. I said to myself. I panicked. Cold sweat poured all over my face. Wait, I got the message yesterday right? So, the due date was off? I couldn't stop muttering and panicking. I laid myself on my bed. I can't stop thinking of the message's terror. I hold tight to the paper and started to fall asleep.
Wait, what's happening to me........??! I said to myself, my body became weak. I felt like I was in another world.
CHOO.....CHOOO.......Jess....
I woke up and I was in another world. I wore my yellow long sleeved T-shirt and orange shirt. I also wore my blue skirt and white socks also my blue sneakers. As if I'm suppose to wear this stuff. My favorite red cap was on my head. My hair was a ponytail.
"That sounded like a train." I said.
"Hey kiddo! Are ya gonna sleep there until the train crashes?" said a voice.
"N-n-no sir!" I said with a straight tone.
"Then get off the train when you arrive at your stop 'kay?" he said again. The big man left and walked to the other corridors.
"What was that?" I said.
"Mr. Hans, the train's ticket inspector." said a voice. I looked in front of me. There was a boy, he was taller than me maybe about 15 or 16 years old. His hair was brown, nice and short. He wore a blue T-shirt doubled with a green jacket. He wore jeans and black striped white sneakers.
"Umm, who are you?" I asked.
"Mike Carmichael's the name or just call me Mike/Michael. What's yours?" he asked.
"Carmelia Madine." I answered. I tried to hide myself as if I was a stranger.
"Say, your name sounds like my friends name." he said.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yea sure. She was my best friend and yet she died in the Civil war. I saw her, I saw her being killed by those vicious military soldiers. I saw her blood, drifting like a river, some of her blood splatted to my face. It felt warm, just like how she use to be." he said.
I was shocked by his aura. It was creepy. The aura was vicious. I feel like in prison.
"But, that all was in the past and it's not good to remember old stuff." he said with a smile.
==============================================================
The train stopped at a station called "Norad". I stepped off the train cause the ticket I had was written: Norad station, platform 4. I was surprised cause Michael also got off at this station as well.
"Hey, I haven't seen you around here? Where'd you come from?" he asked.
"I'm not from this world." I said.
"What? That's nonsense. There ARE no other world, there's only one you silly girl." he said.
"No, it's the truth, Carmichael." I said to him. I never did say someone's last name, except if they're just acquaintances of mine.
"Whoa, easy there, girl! Don't say my last name like that." he said.
"But, it really IS the TRUTH, Michael! Help me get home back will ya?" I shouted at him. He became quiet. He started to think. Then, a big smile showed up on his face.
"Tell you what, I'll give you the address of a comrade I know. You go there and ask him for help. Understand?" he said. I nodded. "Good."
He wrote down the address. I walked at the town square, I don't even know this place, yet I know where I'm going. How strange. I don't get it. I went to this unknown world that looks like in the 1900's and yet I know my way around. I kept walking until I find the address.
