Chapter 7 ~ Presents
"Man, Yesterday was MADNESS!" I said.
"Yeah, I totally agree with you. But good news is, Teresia saved our guts, huh?" said Bernardine.
"Yups. I wonder, what WOULD happen if she didn't came?" I said.
"Hmmm?" we both said, thinking.
"Maybe we'll be crushed by those zombie guys!" I said innocently.
"Ah, and maybe those weirdos might make us their slave, I mean sacrifice." said Bernardine.
"Yeah, and maybe we'll get k-k-k-...." I said with worries.
"Killed....."said Bernardine.
"Eeeekh!" we both screamed. Bang! Bang! Bang! There was a knock on Bernardine's door, it was really loud, that time I was at Bernardine's house to check on our project.
She opened the door and her big brother, Joshua barged in.
"What's with the shouting you two?" he said.
"Umm, sorry big bro' we were talking about yesterday." said Bernardine.
"Well, what's the fuss? And aren't you supposed to do homework, Berry?" he said.
"Yes. But it was finished 2 hours ago, brother." said Bernardine. "Now get outta my room and please don't barge in like that, Okay?" she said strongly.
"But, little sister.." he said.
"No buts. And please knock softly on my door, I have a strong feelings about wrecked things." she said with a threatening tone. She closed the door and sat next to me.
"Nice one." I said.
"Huh, brothers, there always like that." she sighed.
"Tell me about it, my brother is like that every time. It's a little bit irritating." I said.
"Hm. Hey, let's go to the GA cafe and hang out there." said Bernardine.
"Okay. But what about your brother? Isn't he going to go nuts if you leave home without protection?" I said.
"What do you mean by that?" she asked.
"You know yesterday's incident right? Well, Teresia was there because your brother sent her to protect you." I said.
"Oh so that's why she was there." she said. "Ah, don't worry about it, we've got 'these' don't we? she said, showing the thing that Teresia gave us yesterday.
"Oh yes." I said.
"Well, then let's go!" she said. We went out of her house and headed straight to the GA cafe.
"Mom, I going!" said Bernardine. "Okay, be careful dear!" her mom answered. "Alright!" she said.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Mrs. Lucy." I said, bowing my head to Bernardine's mother.
"Ah, don't worry Agnes-chan. You can always come for a visit here." she replied.
I smiled and went out of Berry's house. As we walked outside, it was cold, very cold. But the good news is, it isn't the coldest month (January). It really felt like Christmas is almost here. Even though the vacation days are days away but still.....
We arrived at the GA cafe just in time, in time before they ran out of the super-sized-sundae, we usually eat those. We ordered one super-sized-sundae and we ate it together.
"Hey, where do you wanna go next?" asked Bernardine. My face was covered with vanilla ice-cream, I wipe it all of from my mouth.
"Umm, I don't really know. But I still wanna look for some more gifts." I said.
"Oh really now? Alright then, let's check out the candy store!" she said.
"Candy store? What do wanna do there?" I asked.
"I wanna look for some Christmas candies for my cousins." she answered.
"Okay. That's good enough. Maybe I'll find candy canes for the yearbook team." I said. So, we both agreed to go and check out the candy store.

Later on,
We checked the candy store and as I walked inside, I was amazed by the supply of candies there.
"Wow! This is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!" I said. Bernardine's eyes was sparkling of small sparkles like in the Armstrong family from Fullmetal Alchemist. I giggled, her face was funny.
She looked at me with a straight look and said, "What?"
"Oh nothing. It's just, your face looks weird just now." I said.
"What? Really??? Does my hair look good? Am I wearing too much powder??" she asked to me like a panicked person.
"Ahahaha, Don't worry. Your face looks fine. Let's go and find some candy, okay?" I said with a laughing smile. Bernardine just nodded. We looked everywhere for the perfect gift. Well, Bernardine already found her presents though. I still looked everywhere, until I found the perfect one. It was a box of candy canes, the perfect gift for Christmas. And good news is, there are 24 candy canes, just like the amount I wanted. I went to the cashier and bought it. Funny, the shop keeper was actually the librarian at my school. Good thing she gave me a discount, If not my wallet will be empty and I have to work at my workplace at holidays again. I was really lucky back then.
